wedding photography

So a short discussion on wedding photography.....it's become a huge business and the photojournalistic style has become really popular (lots of candid shots from throughout the whole day, not just the traditional posed stuff in a church). I have only shot one wedding myself so I don't know if I can truly say one way or the other whether it's a business I'd truly want to pursue full-time, but it's definitely a way to make a living off of photography. You have to have a lot of patience and energy to get through the whole day I discovered. I had a very low-key bride luckily, no bridezilla, who was very relaxed about everything, and a small wedding party. Much easier to manage a small group. One challenge I faced was that the wedding was in December and the indoor location they planned to go to for shooting became unavailable that day, so we ended up outside, which in St. Louis was quite chilly. Still got some great stuff though. Here are a few shots: (btw, the uploader thing for pictures on here was trying my patience so they are in reverse order chronologically. didn't have patience to fix it. my computer and blogger aren't friends today. sorry)

So let me know what you think! And if you're getting married anytime soon and need a photographer for a reasonable price.....well you know where to find me :)

thank you!

as for if i would recommend it...if you have the time to dedicate to it, definitely. it's a lot of fun and there is a lot to learn. it definitely is a lot of work though too to go from start to finish, shooting to editing to printed products. if it's something you're really interested in, then i would definitely look into it. i'd suggest looking up local photographers just to see work of people who are currently making it in the business
